The Road and Parks Department maintains the streets and roads throughout the year including snow removal and ice control. The Department also maintains the storm and sanitary sewers, four Municipal Parks, street signs and the Municipal Buildings.

Harmar Township Parks
As the children and grandchildren of hardworking miners and farmers, we appreciate the value of play. The first baseball team dates back to 1915 and the first soccer teams formed shortly after. The unusual number of parks for the size of Harmar Township, clearly demonstrates our commitment to the physical health and emotional well being of residents and visitors.
Inquiries regarding the use of the parks for sports leagues, picnics and gatherings may be directed to the Township office at 724.274.4550.
Along with bleachers, equipment and parking the four Township parks have the following amenities:

Acme Park includes a court for tennis and basketball, a baseball field, pavilion, restrooms and play structures. |

Located behind the Harmar Township Municipal Building are two soccer fields surrounded by a paved walking path, a pavilion with concession stand and restrooms. |

Highbury Park in the Chapel Downs Neighborhood, provides courts for tennis and basketball, a baseball field, pavilions, restrooms, a paved walking path, swings and play structures. |
